Dr Isabelle Demontigny-Bédard graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal in 2010. After a year in private practice in Montreal area, she returned to the University of Montreal to do a residency in veterinary behavior medicine under the supervision of Dr Diane Frank. She was received as a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in 2015. Her primary interests in veterinary behavior include the reduction of generalized anxiety in dogs and cats as well as the identification of underlying medical diseases leading to behavior problems. She is doing her master’s research on feline pica behavior (appetite for non-nutritive substances).

In her free time, Dr Demontigny enjoys hiking and snow-shoeing, as well as sharing a good meal with friends. She shares her home with her two cats, Cera and Valentin. Her oldest 4-legged family member is Flik, a 20 year old red-eared slider turtle.
